1. TRANSPORT OFFICER
As part of our commitment to operational excellence and safety, we are looking for a reliable and experienced transport officer to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our motor vehicle fleet.
Job Purpose
The Transport Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are maintained in good working conditions with timely maintenance, road tax renewals, insurance, compliance with local regulations and optimal utilization of the fleet to support the Group’s operational needs. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a solid understanding of fleet management practices, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s fleet of vehicles in a timely manner, including scheduling servicing, repairs and routine maintenance in coordination with workshops or service providers.
- Monitor insurance coverage, road tax, fitness certificates, and vehicle licensing to ensure full legal compliance.
- Maintain updated and accurate records of each vehicle including usage, maintenance schedules, accident reports and running costs.
- Coordinate with government agencies (e.g., NTA, insurance companies) for renewals, inspections, and registrations.
- Plan and manage efficient deployment of vehicles across the Group’s subsidiaries based on operational demands.
- Monitor driver conduct, fuel consumption, and vehicle performance, and implement cost-control measures.
- Investigate and document vehicle incidents or breakdowns and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions.
- Assist with procurement or replacement of vehicles, spare parts, or accessories when required.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports on fleet status, costs, and upcoming renewals.
- Propose improvements for fleet efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all transport-related operations adhere to internal policies and Mauritian transport regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in transport/fleet management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, insurance, road regulations, and compliance procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and fleet management software/tools.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Valid driving license.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in fleet or transport management.
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in interacting with Mauritian transport and regulatory authorities is a strong advantage.
2. STOREKEEPER
As part of our strong commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a highly organized and proactive Storekeeper to strengthen our supply chain and warehouse management capabilities.
Job Purpose
The Storekeeper will be responsible for managing multiple warehouses situated in different locations. The scope includes oversight of storage for a wide range of items including finished products, raw materials for assembly, construction materials for renovation projects, and maintenance materials for equipment sold by the Group. The Storekeeper will play a key role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, proper inventory control, and close coordination with the procurement team to avoid stock-outs and ensure readiness for incoming consignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of multi-location warehouses under the Neel Group.
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of:
Finished products; Spare parts and consumables for equipment maintenance; Raw materials for assembly; Construction and renovation materials - Ensure optimal space usage to accommodate new consignments, including container offloads.
- Maintain warehouse layout for accessibility, safety, and efficient stock handling(ensure cleanliness and safety standards in all storage areas).
- Implement proper storage methods and tagging for all inventory categories [ensure first-in-first-out (FIFO) or appropriate inventory rotation practices].
- Perform regular stock checks and reconcile with system data.
- Track stock movements and maintain updated inventory records using the Group’s inventory system.
- Prepare and submit regular inventory and usage reports to management.
- Liaise with the Procurement Team to anticipate replenishment needs.
- Monitor minimum stock levels and flag low inventory to prevent delays in operations or projects.
- Coordinate with project and technical teams to ensure timely availability of materials for renovation or maintenance works.
- Coordinate inter-warehouse transfers when needed.
- Support logistics planning for site deliveries and stock deployment
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in storekeeping or a similar role.
- Exposure to managing multiple warehouse sites is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Able to manage priorities across locations.
- Familiar with warehouse/inventory management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills.
- Valid driving license and experience in Forklift driving is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in warehouse/storekeeping, preferably in an industrial or project-based environment.
- Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Warehouse Management, or Supply Chain will be an asset.
3. MACHINE OPERATOR
Our factory division plays a crucial role in the production and assembly of high-quality components and finished goods. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to support our factory operations and contribute to our commitment to operational excellence.
Job Purpose
The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring factory machinery to ensure high efficiency, safety, and product quality. The role includes preparing machines for production runs, inspecting products, and reporting any equipment malfunctions or quality deviations. The operator will work closely with the production team to ensure timely completion of manufacturing targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate factory machines safely and efficiently according to standard operating procedures.
- Set up machines for daily production runs (adjust settings, load materials, perform pre-checks).
- Monitor machine operations and inspect output for consistency and quality.
- Report any mechanical issues or production delays to the Factory Supervisor.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines (cleaning, lubrication, minor adjustments).
- Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment at all times.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Assist in loading/unloading of raw materials and finished products if required.
- Document production data, downtime, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- MITD or NC Certificates is an asset.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with mechanical or automated machinery used in production.
- Ability to operate machines and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Understanding of safety and quality control practices in factory environments.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
